CoolShield®: Purity, Strength, and Resistance
CoolShield PVDF membranes are formulated with polyvinylidene fluoride, a highly non-reactive and pure thermoplastic fluoropolymer, generally used in applications requiring the highest purity, strength, and resistance to solvents, acids, and high temperatures. Cooley’s unique PVDF formulation is a fluorinated, semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer obtained by radical polymerization of vinylidene flouride, making CoolShield among the most chemically inert of all polymers.
CoolShield PVDF was designed for primary/secondary containment in the chemical, safety, medical, and food industries, and for use in applications such as tubing, venting, ducting, and containment of acids, solvents, and fuels. CoolShield PVDF is available in a variety of sizes and colors, with or without an encapsulated edge. CoolShield PVDF can also be extruded onto various fabric and yarn types, in order to customize a unique membrane to meet the requirements of specific applications.
